Effort is about all I ask for during one of my underwater sessions. Not speed. Not technical ability. Not perfection. Just give it your all and I'll do the rest.
This young man from the YOTA of Cary swim team did not disappoint me in any respect.
Swimming short bursts with energy isn't easy and I'm pretty sure by the time we got this photograph, well over half through the session, this swimmer was tired. In fact, I know he was as I had just asked.
So I made a simple request - give me 10 more yards, one more time. And he did without complaint.
The payoff? This perfectly timed image showing his feet in proper kicking form while his arms begin to crash through the pool's surface.
From my position some 4 feet below, the lighting was perfect for the image!
Whether or not he went home and took the nap I told his mom he would take, I don't know. But I do know that if he did, it was well deserved and he is proud to have given me just one more time!
